Cannot See the Moon Tonight

Cannot see the moon tonight.
Without you the sky looks so empty.

But I know you are still there,
Giving a room by hiding
For a handful stars so that
They can shine even in this
Too bright metropolitan sky.

Haven't seen you quite a while
Without you the life is a bit awkward.
But I know despite your absence
You do exist on this earth and
Breathe the same air as I do.

Actually by hiding
You've given a room for
Thousands of people
In this metropolitan surface.

Through the long absence
You've taught me that
All the people are connected
Like spokes of a wheel
With One Source.

I know I can see you again someday,
My sweet Artemis...

To the Ones Who Have Ears

Thus spake the Prophet
And it's the Lord's final say
On the earth for which
Change only is eternal.

Thus spake the Prophet
So we've gotta cling to the same words
For tens of hundreds of years
Without ever doubting they've been
Long overdue for a critical update.

Because the Prophet spake so
We bow to no carved idols.
But standing against the power of change,
Clinging only onto the ancient wisdom,
We are actually worshipping idols
We've made up from the words of wisdom.

On this earth for which
Change only is eternal,
Refusal of change would only means
Refusal of pursuit of the Truth.

Yes, the time-tested prophecies
Still teach us so many things.
But we've also gotta listen to
Small voices of the Lord
Still told to the ones who have ears.

Going Home

Walking against a headwind
You are about to blown down.
Continuing to walk against a headwind
For your own glory,
You may find a heroine inside of you.

But I believe you can use the energy
For a much better purpose than
For your idol of heroism that
Cannot even save you.

Go home, find a shelter you can rest!
Go home, to where you can lie down
And save energy so that you can continue
Walking much faster
When the storm's over.

Go home, take a refuge in a place of peace!
Going home lets you preserve
Your energy for higher purposes!
Going home is not far from shameful.
It's even more shameful to waste
Your energy in vain!

So, go home!
You need a rest now for your future glory.

Come over to me, my sweet Temptress!

What is the difference whether it is in a wife or a mother, it is still Eve the temptress that we must beware of in any woman... I fail to see what use woman can be to man, if one excludes the function of bearing children.
- St. Augustine

Temptress, come over to me!
I still remember the sweetness
Of the apple you gave me.
The sweet aroma of the fruit
Reminds me of nothing but life.

So come over to me,
My dear temptress!
Let me taste the sweetness
Of the life again.

Every man comes from you
And goes back to you
Because the Lord so ordered him.
Whenever the desire
To sink into you burns me,
What I long for is the return
To the Source.

Temptress, come over to me!
Bring me and the rest of the world,
That is burnt and driven by the Sun
Your fragrant sweats
That relieve thirst and tension.

Temptress, come over to me!
You opened my eyes so
That I can see the whole world.

Before your beautiful temptation
I had only known half the world...

Come over to me, my sweet Tempress!
Please heal my tired soul
With you gentle sliver moon rays.

Come over to me again, my sweet Temptress!
I want to know more about you
So that we can be full again.

A Heretic

I don't believe in God.
Do you believe in the air
That you can breathe in?
Do you believe in the Sun
That warms all of us?

I don't have to believe in God
Because He is here in my heart
There in your hearts
And in the Energy
That covers and unites
Everything in this universe.

I don't have to believe in God
Because I know He is.

I know I am a heretic.
But what does it matter?
In this world that's getting
More and more open
Being a heretic
Simply connects me to
More and more of you.

When Buddha greeted me
Through my newborn son,
Thus I learnt that He was
One of many great windows
That lead to One God.

But I am not venturing into
A Brave New World.

I am just going home.
I am just taking Jesus' teachings home
So that I can share these with
Buddha, Lao-tzu and other great teachers

Of this part of the world.

I am just taking another window
To my home...

Please turn your face to me, Artemis

Please turn your face to me, Artemis.
Gently light up
The depth of my heart.
Your light quietly opens
The hidden door of Unconscious
So that I can touch the Mystery,
The Wisdom that gives me peace.

I long for your light, Artemis.
Apollo's light is everywhere.
But in front of his blazing face,
The Wisdom in the depth shies away.

Please light up my heart, Artemis.
I want your gentle rays so that
I can reach the healing Wisdom
So that I can see the path to peace.

Please turn your face to me, my dear moon goddess.
The Wisdom of depth is very shy
So I want your gentle, quiet light.

(Artemis sometimes uses another name "Phoebe".)

ACIM Lesson 2

I see a telephone on my desk.
I remember it used to be Mr. Lee's garbage.

I see an aquarium next to a TV set.
I remember these used to be Mr. Chan's.

I see a water heater here.
A shoe rack, a rice steamer there,
A book case, a tea pot,
And many cups on the shelves there.
Every one of these used to be someone's garbage.

As I wiped them clean,
I ripped the meaning attached
When they had been thrown away
And gave new meanings to
These pieces of garbage
And gave them new lives.

They are not garbage anymore
Because I've given them
New meanings and
Second chances.

I have given everything I see in this room
[on this street, from this window, in this place]
all the meaning that it has for me.
